McQueen Tribute

46 years ago on this day, Alexander McQueen was born. This English fashion designer was a true artist and his designs will always be missed for no one could never replace him. Not only did he create clothes, but he also created whole characters. The women wearing McQueen's clothes wear art but also have the chance to play a role and to become someone straight from his imagination. Three days ago in London, it was the opening of Savage Beauty, an exhibition presenting Alexander McQueen's designs. Here are some pictures of the clothes themselves, and next to them, pictures of the clothes worn by models during the fashion shows. Now, when you see these, you'll know what I meant by "the creation of a character".

Harry Styles, a fashion icon who breaks the rules

Harry Styles is known for being part of the well-known band One Direction, but also for his outfits and his taste for fashion. Indeed, at 21 years old only, the singer's looks helped him gained eminence in the fashion world, even though he is already considered a fashion icon. Harry's style is very particular. PFW: Viktor & Rolf Couture Fall Winter 2015/2016 - "Wearable Art"

This wednesday Viktor and Rolf  presented their latest Haute Couture collection in Paris they named "Wearable Art". If you don't know it yet, the two designers revealed they would follow the steps of Jean Paul Gaultier by only focusing on Haute Couture. This show truly showed how fashion is a full art - wearable art to use their own words. While a lot of people question the true meaning of Couture, defining it as a bunch of expensive clothes you will never wear, Viktor and Rolf got things straight: fashion should not be considered only as a way to look good and following trends is boring - even though it is kind of important since it portrays a certain generation. Fashion should be considered as art on the same level as painting, architecture, poetry, music... If you are going to spend tons of money on a painting, why not on an outfit ?
