PFW: Valentin Yudashkin Spring Summer 2016

Russian designer Valentin Yudashkin decided to take a break from black and make a collection full of colors. The use of neoprene and tech mesh fabrics set a sporty feminine vibe at the beginning of the collection. Yudashkin said his major inspiration for this collection was contemporary art, especially painter Piotr Uklanski. Uklanski's influence on the designer's work can indeed be perceived through the drip prints. There was also a never-ending transition between pastel and bright colors - especially red, fushia, purple and orange. The long and sometimes shiny dresses that made an entrance towards the end of the collection introduced the very last gowns which, in the designer's opinion, represented what glamour is today. Watching the fianl outfits basically seemed like watching a colorful explosion of magenta, taffeta and tulle.

PFW: Saint Laurent Spring Summer 2016

"Saint Laurent Skin" was the name of Hedi Slimane's latest collection for the iconinc brand. This collection was inspired by the nineties and by the grunge movement - to follow the steps of the last men's collection. The models walked on the song "The Mirrors", composed by John Dwyer just for the occasion. Hedi Slimane stayed loyal to his rock n chic signature by mixing two different styles. On the one hand, there were silky, glittery and lacy little slip dresses, and a lot of black a gold sequins. This, along with the  rhinestone tiaras and the floor-length dresses, gave a touch of Haute Couture to the collection while on the other hand, the biker jackets and denim clothes were more representative of the Grunge movement that influenced the collection. It was the perfect mix of classy and trashy, where shiny dresses met wellies - with sometimes roses embroided on them.  There were also a lot of camo and leo prints - typical of Saint Laurent by Hedi Slima
